2023 GMC Acadia: Denali, AT4, Redesign, and Release Date. The current generation of GMC’s mid-size crossover has been around since 2017. Although relatively fresh, it was already facelifted for the 2020 model year. Simply, GM management wasn’t satisfied with how things turn out with this model, so changes were on time and pretty numerous. Nowadays, everything looks much better and that’s the reason why we believe that the current model will remain in production for several more years without more important changes. The 2023 GMC Acadia should be a typical carryover model and the best we could see are minor updates in terms of new features, color options and similar things.
The overall layout will certainly remain the same, which means that you may count on a crossover that offers a lot of good things. It is comfortable and spacious, while the engine offer is pretty good. The fuel economy is also at a pretty high level, while the infotainment system is easy to use.
We expect to see 2023 GMC Acadia sometime late in the year.
2023 GMC Acadia Engines
We expect to see 2023 GMC Acadia with three familiar engine options in the offer. Base models should use a 2.5-liter four-cylinder, which puts out around 193 horsepower. There’s not much fun with this engine under the hood but it gets the job done. The optional 2.0-liter turbo-four is good for about 230 horsepower and it offers way better driving dynamics, thanks to much more torque. Still, the best choice would definitely be a well-known 3.6-liter V6. With its 310 horsepower, it seems like a perfect measure for this three-row crossover.
All three engines come coupled with a 9-speed automatic transmission, which does a pretty decent job.
2023 GMC Acadia Redesign
As we already mentioned, the 2023 GMC Acadia is about to be a typical carryover model. You may count on a pretty familiar design, which is based on the well-known C1 platform. What we like about this model is that it isn’t too ambitious in terms of handling and sporty ride, but rather puts all of its resources on comfort. As a result, the ride is really smooth, perfect for longer journeys.
Styling-wise, the 2023 GMC Acadia will continue with all the updates that came two years ago. This means a bold-looking front end, which takes a lot of inspiration from GMC’s pickup trucks like Sierra and Canyon. Of course, there is always a chance to see minor updates, such as new color options.
Models like Denali and AT4 will continue with their exclusive features and aesthetics.
Interior
If you’re rational enough, you won’t have any complaints about this interior. Yes, it may feature a bit of hard plastics, but the overall quality is actually very good. Also, the dashboard looks attractive, while the infotainment system is intuitive and super easy to use. We like the driving position is high and provides great visibility in all directions.
The first two rows are very generous when it comes to interior space. They accommodate adults with ease, while we particularly like the front seats, which are massive and supportive. On the other side, the third row is tight, but that’s a typical thing for the segment. Adults may use it on shorter trips, while kids will have enough space on any occasion.
The cargo area offers 12.8 cubic feet behind the third row, 41.7 cubic feet behind the second and 79 cubic feet with both rows folded. We can say that’s decent for the class.
Features
Novelties in this aspect are always possible but we are pretty sure that the 2023 GMC Acadia will remain largely the same as the current 2021 model. This means that the list of standard features should include goodies like an 8-inch touch screen, a six-speaker audio system, satellite radio, a Wi-Fi hot spot, five USB ports, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. This is probably the only model in the class that comes standard with tri-zone automatic climate control. Additionally, you can get goodies like wireless device charging, navigation, an eight-speaker Bose audio system, HD Radio, and a rear-seat entertainment system.
When it comes to safety, all models will come standard with a rearview camera, rear parking sensors, a rear-seat reminder, rear cross-traffic alert, blind spot monitoring with lane change alert. Among the upgrades, some of the highlights are a head-up display, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, Rear Camera Mirror, a surround-view parking camera system, front parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, lane departure warning etc.
2023 GMC Acadia Release Date and Price
Considering that there are no bigger changes to come, we are pretty sure that the 2023 GMC Acadia won’t hit the market before the last quarter of the year. Base models should go around 30.000 dollars when it comes to the price. The competition in the segment is tough and some of the potential rivals are models like Nissan Pathfinder, Kia Telluride, VW Atlas etc.
