2023 KIA Optima Rumors, Redesign, and Release Date. KIA may re-release the newly redesigned mid-size Optima sedan will offer two turbocharged engines in the US as well as the all-wheel-drive option globally-and, very likely, also in the US for the first time. There will be a new Optima GT powered by the 286-HP turbocharged 2.5-liter inline-four. The new Optima will be called K5 outside of the US and maybe here too, and American buyers will get it in the second half of 2020. Don’t expect a complete redesign underneath. Instead, expect a design that purifies the current design, which receives the smallest refresh for the model 2023 years. Just like the new KIA Forte, 2023 KIA Optima will probably borrow the weight from KIA Stinger. The design will emphasize the sleek roofline and wider proportions. As the 2020 Hyundai Sonata, the Optima platform-Mate, the 2023 Optima will grow in both wheelbase and width. Inside, the 2023 KIA Optima will feature a ton of technology introduced in the 2021 Sonata while also providing less interior space. Some features may be limited to higher trims and premium prices, but technologies such as NFC capabilities, wireless charging, parking help, and more should be available along with showing the blind spot monitor look at the instrument panel.
