Hybrid Powertrain First of all, we saw on the spy photos the tachometer set at 8,000 rpm, which clearly suggests a gasoline engine. The manufacturer plans to remove all of the diesel engines in the near future. As for the 2023 Nissan Qashqai, the best part of this SUV is its hybrid powertrain. It is Nissan’s e-Power 12-volt hybrid system. We believe the Qashqai will also deploy the plug-in hybrid technology made by Mitsubishi, which is now part of Nissan. However, the PHEV variant won’t become available instantly. A 1.3-liter turbocharged and 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine should be in the offer. The most powerful variant will generate up to 340 horsepower. We are waiting to hear the exact specs of a regular hybrid system with a 1.3-liter engine.
