2023 Volkswagen Tiguan Redesign, Updates, and Release Date. The forthcoming 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan is getting a mid-cycle facelift. Tiguan is the brand’s most popular SUV at the moment. It is a compact SUV with so much to offer. The good thing about this model is that it is available in the United States. You will find a lot of good stuff, especially after the latest upgrades. The Tiguan will gain refreshed styling and more premium interior design. Volkswagen will add a lot of new high-tech amenities, especially new safety systems.

Furthermore, Tiguan offers optional third-row of seats, while the comfort is great. It is a complete package in our honest opinion. As before, Tiguan will continue to ride on a famous MQB architecture, so SUV’s dimensions won’t change at all. Volkswagen has the winning formula, so nothing will change under the hood. The sales will begin later this year.

2023 Tiguan Facelift Includes New Colors

The all-new 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan will get a significant facelift. We can’t call it a redesign, but this facelift is more than a regular mid-cycle upgrade. Thanks to that, Tiguan will arrive with a redesigned front end. The front fascia now comes with standard and new LED headlights and daytime running lights. We can spot a lot of similarities between the new Tiguan and the electric ID.4 variant. The biggest similarity is the LED light bar. The air intakes are slightly larger and more aggressive.

The range-topping trim levels will gain unique bumpers and some other interesting updates. To the sides, the new Tiguan shows a new character line and the rear section hosts the same LED taillights. There will be up to eight exterior paints. That includes colors such as Kings Red Metallic and Oryx White. Lastly, Volkswagen provides new aluminum-alloy wheels, ranging from 17 to 20-inch units.

Gasoline Engine Remains

There will be four trim levels and all of them will use the same 2.0-liter turbo-four gasoline engine. The 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan is capable of producing 184 horsepower and 221 lb-ft of torque. The manufacturer offers an eight-speed automatic transmission and a standard front-wheel-drive system. As before, 4Motion AWD setup is optional.

Interior Changes

Interestingly, changes inside the cabin are even more drastic. The 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan will obtain Digital Cockpit with a standard 8-inch display. A 10-inch variant is optional. New Wi-Fi is optional as well and Tiguan will use the latest MIB3 infotainment system. You will find a lot of traditional knobs inside the cabin, used for tuning and volume controls.

Skip the base trim level and you will get VW’s Climatronic Touch setup, a knob-less climate control system. The R-Line trim level is sportier and definitely more premium. It comes with leather upholstery, power-adjustable seats, ambient lighting, and a panoramic sunroof.

2023 Volkswagen Tiguan Release Date, Price

The price of the 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan will start at $25,000. On the other hand, the range-topping model will cost you $40,000 or slightly above that. Tiguan will offer four trim levels and it will rival compact SUVs such as Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V. The sales will begin this fall, both in Europe and the United States.
