2023 Mercedes-Benz C-Class: Redesign, Price, Release Date. The forthcoming 2023 Mercedes-Benz C-Class will continue to offer numerous refreshments. This time, it is the new-generation model that comes with more technology, more cabin space, and a more aggressive look. The redesign is happening and this classy sedan will offer a lot of novelties. The exterior will suffer more visual upgrades than the interior.
The cabin will host some new features and new materials. Under the hood, Mercedes will offer a more efficient turbocharged engine. The sales will begin in the first quarter of the next year, but the pricing details are not available.
What About Hybrid Powertrain?
The upcoming sedan will ride on a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine. Thanks to that, the new 2023 Mercedes-Benz C-Class will develop 255 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. The numbers are respectable and in line with rivals from Audi and BMW. Still, the highlight of the C-Class sedan is its 48-volt hybrid system. This setup provides additional 20 horses and up to 150 lb-ft of twisting power.
Mercedes said the hybrid system is 15 percent more efficient than before. A 9-speed automatic transmission is the only choice and we are waiting for the German manufacturer to reveal more details regarding the sedan’s performances. Mercedes promised both gasoline and diesel versions of the hybrid powertrain, but we don’t know which variant will come to the United States.
Mercedes-Benz C-Class Redesign
The redesign of the 2023 Mercedes-Benz C-Class is happening. New model will arrive with a longer wheelbase and the sedan will be 2.5 inches longer in total. On top of that, the new C-Class is also 0.4 inches wider and 0.4 inches shorter in height. Thanks to that, C-Class will look more athletic and sportier. The design language is recognizable and most of the new stuff are borrowed from the A-Class.
The rear section is slightly bulbous. Furthermore, Mercedes opted for a more angular approach upfront. On the other hand, the side profile will look cleaner. Thanks to that, the new C-Class is definitely a sportier and more unique sedan than it was before.
Interior Overhaul
Despite dimensional changes, the 2023 Mercedes-Benz C-Class will offer the same cargo capacity. However, the rear legroom and headroom are slightly better than before. Mercedes plans to deliver a more minimalist design, so most of the changes are major. For a start, C-Class comes with a larger 11.9-inch touchscreen that dominates the dashboard. The air vents are now placed above the display because of that.
The center-console touchpad is gone, along with the controller knob. With this maneuver, Mercedes cleared the cluttered center stack with few buttons. Most of the controls are now operated via a touchscreen that comes with the newest MBUX software. Some buttons and knobs will remain, but Mercedes will introduce a new fingerprint scanner and new upholstery.
2023 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Price, Release Date
The price of the 2023 Mercedes-Benz C-Class will start at around $43,000. The manufacturer offers a lot of different variants and upper trim levels are less affordable. Both the C300 and C300 4Matic variants will go on sale in the United States, most likely in the first quarter of 2023.
