2023 Honda HR-V Redesign, Hybrid, Specs, and Price. The upcoming 2023 Honda HR-V is the popular crossover that continues with upgrades and changes. This time, the 2023 HR-V will introduce a complete redesign. This is not official yet, but the most reliable reports are strongly suggesting the new generation. In our opinion, HR-V already looks attractive and modern. Still, the competition is stronger than ever before and Honda clearly feels that now is the time for refreshments.
The segment is packed with models such as Kia Seltos, Hyundai Kona, and Mazda CX-30. A hybrid powertrain is in the works, but some reports are saying the hybrid model will be sold in Europe, not United States. Of course, Honda is yet to reveal all of the details in the coming months. The sales will begin in the last quarter of 2021.
Hybrid Powertrain Coming to the USA?
As we said, the 2023 Honda HR-V will offer a hybrid powertrain option. The hybrid model will go on sale in Europe. If Honda plans to offer the same powertrain in the United States, we still don’t know. Reportedly, the manufacturer will provide the same hybrid setup that you can find in the Accord and Insight cars.
The HR-V Hybrid will arrive with a 1.5-liter unit that works with an electric motor. This output will develop around 150 hp, but it will also provide over 30 mpg combined. On the other hand, we know the HR-V will offer a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 158 horsepower. The same engine powers the Civic model.
Honda HR-V Redesign
Unlike some other models in the segment, the new 2023 Honda HR-V will look less aggressive and more adorable. It is a new design language that comes with slightly sportier styling and brand-new exterior features. For a start, HR-V will gain a new grille that is shaped in the same way as the headlights on new Hyundai’s models. This comes as no surprise, as we saw all of this in the Vezel concept before.
New HR-V will introduce a coupe-like styling with a larger grille and standard 17-inch wheels. The Sport trim level will offer 18-inch rims as standard. The rear end will also get new taillights and a new bumper. As with any other next-gen model, this one will also introduce new exterior colors. However, HR-V doesn’t offer power liftgate as its biggest rivals, which isn’t good news.
Interior Changes
The interior of the upcoming 2023 Honda HR-V will continue to provide great comfort and plenty of modern features. The cabin design is slightly different, although the interior layout remains the same. There will be room for five passengers, like in the previous models.
Honda will introduce a new free-standing infotainment touchscreen with standard Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. This crossover will offer in-dash navigation, onboard Wi-Fi, and the latest safety aids. Generally, the comfort will be slightly improved, but the focus is on the high-tech amenities so the new HR-V is more modern than ever before.
2023 Honda HR-V Price and Release Date
The price of the next-gen 2023 Honda HR-V will start at around $23,000. Still, we must wait for Honda to unveil more details, including the price of its new crossover. The HR-V model will hit the dealerships in the last quarter of 2021.
