According to leaked documents, Niro is codenamed SG2 and is currently in the works. Kia said the all-new model will bring funky design, more tech, and much more. Niro PHEV and Niro EV Specs
While this is not official yet, new 2023 Kia Niro will arrive with mild-hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and all-electric variants. The current e-Niro variant comes with a 64-kWh battery and an electric motor that develops 200 horsepower. The all-electric model will provide almost 300 miles of driving range, which is great.
We don’t know if Kia plans to provide slightly more power and improved electric range. As for the Niro PHEV version, this model will borrow a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine from the Kia Sorento. This model will use an 8-kWh battery pack and it will generate 260 horsepower.
2023 Niro Redesign
Not surprisingly, the new 2023 Kia Niro will borrow a lot of stuff from the Kia HabaNiro concept. This concept made its debut in 2019 and it is a concept that will have a great impact on future brand’s vehicles. One of the future models is the Niro SUV. The concept comes with astonishing looks, butterfly doors, and numerous red exterior elements.
Of course, Niro will have to depart from the concept in some categories. The concept looks very futuristic and less probable to happen in real life. However, Kia Niro will borrow the tiger-nose grille and boomerang-shaped LED taillights. With this redesign, Niro will look more exciting and less boring. Kia will provide a sportier stance with new and bolder exterior features.
Interior Changes
On the inside, the new 2023 Kia Niro will benefit from a longer wheelbase. Thanks to that, the interior provides more space for the passengers. The cabin will also host a new design, so new Niro SUV will look more stylish. Kia will provide more high-quality materials, a new infotainment system, and the latest driver-assistance aids.
Reportedly, Niro will gain a new 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster with blind-spot monitors. Besides that, Kia offers adaptive cruise control, a larger touchscreen option, and much more. Overall, Niro now offers more space, a higher level of comfort, more tech, and improved safety.
2023 Kia Niro Launch Date, Price
The all-new 2023 Kia Niro will now cost above $25,000. The price is not official yet and Kia will reveal more details in the coming weeks. This small SUV will continue to rival Chevy Bolt, Volkswagen ID.3, Toyota C-HR, and Nissan Qashqai or Rogue Sport models. The sales will begin later in 2021.
