This is the new-gen A3 and it will ride on the same powertrain as the Volkswagen Group models, offered by VW, Seat, and Skoda. The changes are drastic, so both the exterior and interior will get various improvements.

Specs, Charging, Driving Range
As for the performances, the new 2023 Audi A3 PHEV will deploy a gasoline-hybrid setup. A regular 1.4-liter turbo-four engine provides 148 hp and 185 lb-ft of torque. An electric motor will add 107 hp and 243 lb-ft of twisting power. Thanks to that, A3 PHEV will offer up to 201 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. The power is going to the front wheels via a relatively new 6-speed S Tronic transmission.
The arriving hatchback sprints from 0 to 60 mph in 7.6 seconds. Moreover, top speed is rated at 141 mph. The all-electric driving range delivers 49 miles and 13 kWh battery will need around four hours to fully charge. Audi will provide various driving modes such as Battery Hold, Battery Charge, and sporty Dynamic drive mode.
Audi A3 PHEV Looks Very Sporty
Regular A3 Sportback hatch will look exactly like the PHEV version. That means the 2023 Audi A3 PHEV will arrive with a muscular and sporty design. Audi offers wide “quattro blister” wheel arches and recognizable front fascia. The E-shaped signature for the matrix LED headlights is looking impressive. However, matrix headlamps are optional on this model.
The daytime running lights are slightly reshaped and generally, the front end looks very modern and upright. The rear section will get a small revision of the taillamps and the bumper will be slightly wider. This hatchback offers standard 16-inch wheels, just like the outgoing model. Under the skin, a multi-link independent rear axle is offered as standard.
Interior Gets More Features
On the inside, the new 2023 Audi A3 PHEV will gain various improvements. The interior now offers hybrid-type of functions and displays. The display now shows battery status, power output info, and regenerative braking. It is a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster with an “energy flow” page on the 10.1-inch infotainment display. The cabin space is better than before, but the gasoline-powered A3 still provides more cargo room.
The hybrid model will get more standard equipment, including a leather-wrapped steering wheel and dual-zone climate control. On top of that, A3 PHEV comes with additional driver-assistance technologies such as lane-departure warning and adaptive cruise control. A panoramic sunroof is available and it is optional.
2023 Audi A3 PHEV Price and Release Date
The approaching 2023 Audi A3 PHEV will be launched in Europe first, in the coming weeks. According to the German manufacturer, a more powerful version is in the works and this version emphasizes the sporty accents. As for the price, the new hatchback will cost EUR37,500 or $43,000.
