2023 Audi A6 e-tron: Electric, Redesign, and Release Date. The upcoming 2023 Audi A6 e-tron is still just a concept. Audi unveiled it just recently and this model will enter production in the coming weeks. It is a model that previews Audi’s new EV family built on the PPE platform. This architecture is designed to underpin mid-size sedans and SUVs. The platform is co-developed with Porsche.
The A6 e-tron is a sportback and it will arrive right after Q6 e-tron SUV. The new Porsche Macan EV that uses the same underpinnings will also go on sale at some point next year. As for the A6 e-tron, this model will hit the dealerships in Europe and the United States. The production model will slightly depart from the original concept, but here’s everything we know at this moment.
Driving Range, Charging
At the reveal, the 2023 Audi A6 e-tron was shown with a battery of 100 kWh. This should be enough for the A6 e-tron to cover around 435 miles on a single charge. A total output of 469 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque is promised. According to Audi, PPE can handle a single rear axle motor for a possible better driving range and also at a lower cost. The brand also claims PPE will use an 800-volt charger at speeds up to 270 kW. This is a unique high-volume mid-range charger for the luxury segment.
Thanks to that, the A6 e-tron can provide 186 miles of range in just 10 minutes of charging. “The customers will charge the 100kWh battery from 5 to 80 percent within less than 25 minutes,” the company claims. Lastly, this model comes with the front suspension that is basically an air system with adaptive dumpers. A five-link setup is in use, along with the multilink axle in the back. The A6 e-tron will sprint from 0 to 60 mph in less than four seconds.
2023 A6 e-tron Design
The 2023 Audi A6 e-tron is about the same size as the A7 sportback. Audi claims that aerodynamic efficiency and performance are the priority. The brand also claims that the low front end and the sloping roofline will allow the concept to reach an electrified C-segment drag coefficient of just 0.22.
The digital LED matrix headlights are brand-new and are also the slimmest headlights we’ve seen so far. They have OLED technology that ensures the highest visibility and a large variety of functionality. Generally, we think the A6 e-tron looks impressive, as it comes with a sporty stance and modern styling.
Interior Details
Audi didn’t provide interior details. However, we know the 2023 Audi A6 e-tron will offer a lot of high-quality materials, impressive build quality, and high-resolution displays. The manufacturer said the interior details will be released later in the year. No doubt, the cabin will be full of luxury, which includes leather seats, the latest safety aids, and even video games.
2023 Audi A6 e-tron Price and Release Date
The price is not available at the moment and it is perhaps the biggest mystery about this model. New 2023 Audi A6 e-tron will be built in Ingolstadt, Germany and the production will start in the coming weeks. The sales will begin at some point next year, according to the latest reports.
