2025 Kia EV6 Crossover: Release Date, Electric, Price, and Specs. The 2025 Kia EV6 is the brand’s newest electric crossover. The EV6 model will ride on Hyundai’s E-GMP architecture that also underpins Ioniq 5 model. Kia shared the first images of its new EV6 model and the first impressions are very positive. According to Kia, the EV6 is only the first of the eleven promised electric models that the brand plans to introduce by 2026.
A full reveal will happen in the coming weeks and EV6 will join Soul and Niro electric vehicles. The sales will begin later in 2021, most likely this fall. Without further ado, here’s everything you need to know about the brand-new Kia EV6.
Power, Driving Range
Most likely, the new 2025 Kia EV6 will share more than a platform with the Hyundai Ioniq 5. Whatsoever, Kia will borrow the same 77.4-kWh battery pack with a voltage of 800 volts. The base variant will use a single electric motor that powers the rear wheels. Ioniq 5 comes with almost the same setup and it provides 215 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque.
Kia will most likely deliver the same figures, probably slightly more horses, but it is far from a major improvement over the Hyundai’s powertrain. On the other hand, a dual-motor setup with a standard AWD system will be optional. Reportedly, Kia EV6 with dual-motor configuration will develop 302 hp and 445 lb-ft of torque. The EV6 model will provide around 300 miles of all-electric range on a single charge.
Kia EV6 Comes With Sleek Exterior Design
The upcoming 2025 Kia EV6 will wear the brand’s new design language. Kia opted for a bolder approach with a sleek roofline and sporty stance. Some exterior parts are looking aggressive, especially the front “Digital Tiger Face” fascia. The rear window slopes nicely down to a spoiler and the spoiler host a light bar. While this is not practical, visually looks very attractive.
Kia also said the goal is to deliver ultimate aerodynamics performance. As we said, the EV6 electric crossover will ride on Hyundai’s E-GMP (Electric-Global Modular Platform). The same architecture underpins the current Hyundai Ioniq 5 model. However, we’ll have to wait for the official debut in order to find out more details about this new crossover.
Interior Looks Very Modern
The forthcoming 2025 Kia EV6 will arrive with a traditional interior design. The cabin will wear interesting bold angles and lines, which is a novelty for Kia. The center console looks unique, just like the modern center stack. While the Ioniq 5 model comes with a center console, EV6, which looks odd.
On the other hand, this makes perfect sense as electric cars have no transmission tunnel. Kia’s console slides back and forth, but Kia is yet to provide more details. A digital instrument cluster is on offer and it sits in front of the driver. The infotainment system is up to date and Kia EV6 will offer a very modern horizontally-oriented display.
2025 Kia EV6 Price, Release Date
The brand-new 2025 Kia EV6 will hit the dealerships in the second half of 2021, most likely this fall. The price is not official, but many reliable reports are predicting a price of $45,000. The EV6 is one of eleven models that Kia plans to introduce in the next five years.
