2023 BMW iX1: Electric SUV, Hybrid, and Release Date. The 2023 BMW iX1 is an all-electric SUV with so much to offer. The manufacturer will reveal its new model early in 2023. It is a small electric SUV, based on the new-gen X1 model, as its name suggests. However, most of the components are borrowed from the iX3 variant. Anyway, the iX1 version will provide almost 300 miles of all-electric driving range on a single charge.
On top of that, first spy photos are now available, so the first exterior details are here. According to BMW, the iX1 model is just one of the 13 electric vehicles that will be introduced before 2025. Here’s everything you need to know about this impressive model.
Driving and charging Range
The all-new 2023 BMW iX1 will most likely deploy the same system as the iX3 variant. The BMW iX3 is producing 286 horsepower and around 285 miles of electric range, using the 80kWh battery pack. The iX1 will follow the same path, so we don’t expect a lot of surprises.
Anyway, this SUV will offer a fast-charging 150kW output that provides around 60 miles in just 10 minutes of charging. On the other hand, the home charger will take about 12 hours to fully charge the battery. Still, the iX1 is a smaller model, so we expect to see better efficiency. The range-topping variant will reportedly deliver 300 miles of range.
BMW iX1 Spy Shots
In terms of design, the new 2023 BMW iX1 will look closer to the regular X1 SUV. The spy photos are showing exactly that, as we can easily spot a traditional shape of the mentioned model. It seems like the electric version is a little bit sportier. Of course, the biggest difference between iX1 and X1 models is the closed kidney grille, like on the iX3 variant.
Another difference is the charging port, but we couldn’t spot it beneath heavy camouflage. The rear section looks exactly like the rear fascia of the next-gen X1 model. The rear bumper seems more prominent, and the rear roofline is perhaps more raked.
Interior Details
The interior of the upcoming 2023 BMW iX1 is clearly based on the current 1 Series. Thanks to that, the electric SUV comes with a lot of premium stuff, including a larger display and plenty of high-quality materials. A 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen is standard and it comes with the latest version of the iDrive system. Optionally, iX1 will offer a fully digital driver display.
Interestingly, but the all-electric version will provide less cabin space when compared to the regular X1 model. Spy shots are not showing more details, but we hope to see a familiar hexagonal-shaped steering wheel and optional 14.9-inch display.
2023 BMW iX1 Price, Release Date
At this moment, we don’t know the price of the 2023 BMW iX1 SUV. Whatsoever, BMW didn’t reveal the price of the regular gasoline-powered X1 model. Of course, the electric variant will be more expensive and some experts are predicting for the price to start at $60,000, or even more. The sales will begin in the first quarter of 2023.
